The Origin Story
My journey into building tools for real estate started back in 2021 with a small project called Real Estate Buddy. It was a simple, free browser extension designed to calculate mortgage repayments directly on Zillow and other real estate sites. I built it because I was tired of switching tabs to run basic numbers.
That project showed me two things: people doing property research needed better tools, and I wanted to keep building them. It didn't track users, it was free, and it just worked. That philosophy stuck with me.
The Pivot to Data
By late 2022, I realized the bigger problem wasn't just calculation—it was extraction. Investors and agents were spending hours copying and pasting listing data into spreadsheets. I founded Property Data Labs (formerly Zillow Data Exporter) to automate this.
What started as a tool to help me analyze rental markets quickly grew into a platform used by thousands. The goal was simple: turn hours of manual entry into seconds of automated work.

Engineering Background
Before going full-time on Property Data Labs, I spent years as a software engineer honing my skills in scalable systems.
- Backend Developer at Tise (now part of eBay) (2021-2024)
Built scalable backend services using TypeScript and AWS for a sustainable fashion marketplace. - Software Engineer at ActivePipe (2020-2021)
Specialized in data imports and marketing automation for real estate agents. - Full-stack Engineer at Genie Solutions (now Magentus) (2016-2020)
Developed cloud and desktop practice management software for medical professionals.
I also cut my teeth founding other projects like TesolHub (a job portal for teachers) and JobCompanion. Some worked, some didn't, but every line of code led me here.
Why I Keep Building
Property Data Labs is founder-led. I use the product for my own property research, read every support email, and turn that feedback into regular improvements. If you have a feature request, you're talking directly to the person who writes the code.
